Paradise Philippines
The Philippines is a paradise. From the people, to the food, to the sights and sounds, to nature, and to the travel spots in Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, Ilocos, and so many other places in the Philippines.
In the coming weeks, you will be treated to a buffet of sights and sounds in the Philippines. It will be as if you were right here in Manila, even if you’re in front of your screen in the opposite side of the world.
Hopefully, you too will be enamored enough to come and visit the Philippines and discover that it truly is a paradise here on earth.
Origin of the Philippine Paradise
This started when Marc Macalua (Macalua.com) brainstormed and came up with the idea of showcase the Philippines with the help of numerous bloggers. These bloggers will work in teams, in the spirit of Bayanihan.
How exactly did the Philippines come to be? There are many stories locked in the mists of ancient times, handed down from generation upon generation.
Among these tales are narrations of battles between the inhabitants of the Skyworld and those of the Underworld. Others say the world was made purely of water, with the sky above, and the only other thing existing was a bird of prey. The bird gets the sky and the sea to fight one another.
In the ensuing melee, the sky hurls down rocks towards the sea, and so that bird was able to land and rest on those rocks (which eventually became the Philippines). In this idyllic avian paradise, the bird saw a piece of bamboo, and pecked on it vigorously until it split.
Out of the bamboo emerged a man and a woman, and some say those were the first people in the Philippines.
